Welcome to the Lend A Heart, Inc. (LAH) website.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that has been serving the Sacramento community since 1987. 

All Lend A Heart volunteers donate their time, their pets and their talents; we have no paid staff. We are unique in that we visit all of our programs as a group to provide effective mentoring and guidance to our new teams. LAH does not certify individual teams to visit on their own. We provide animal-assisted therapy (AAT) to approximately 14 local facilities on a monthly basis.

Our certified therapy animals create smiles for lonesome senior citizens, motivate disabled individuals in physical therapy, and send emotionally or physically challenged children into fits of laughter.

Lend A Heart volunteers contribute well over 200 hours per month to facilities throughout the greater Sacramento area.
