Welcome to the Lend A Heart, Inc. (LAH) website.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that has been serving the Sacramento community since 1987. 

All Lend A Heart volunteers donate their time, their pets and their talents; we have no paid staff. We are unique in that we visit all of our programs as a group to provide effective mentoring and guidance to our new teams. LAH does not certify individual teams to visit on their own. We provide animal-assisted therapy (AAT) to approximately 25 local facilities on a monthly basis.

The Lend A Heart Therapy Program requires dedication and commitment.  Sharing your pet with those in your community to bring them happiness and joy is immeasurable rewarding.

Note:  By State and Federal Law, Therapy Teams do not have the same rights of ADA open access as Service Dogs.  They have no more privileges than the average family pet, and are subject to the same laws and ordinances.  Certified Lend A Heart Therapy Teams are permitted at pre-contracted Lend A Heart facilities only.
